Falkirk Childcare Information Service

This Service provides lots of useful information relating to childcare provision in the Falkirk area along with local information on job vacancies, leisure activities and family support information.  It also gives advice and guidance on choosing suitable childcare.

Care Commission

The Scottish Care Commission for the Regulation of Care, known as the Care Commission, was set up by an Act of the Scottish Parliament, The Regulation of Care Scotland Act 2001.  It is a national body responsible for regulating care services throughout Scotland.  The Care Commission has a legal duty to register and inspect a wide range of care services and helps to ensure that people who use care services are safe, protected and that the services meet the requirements of the law and other standards.

Scottish Executive-Childcare Partnerships Website

There are 32 Childcare Partnerships - one in each local authority in Scotland.  Childcare Partnerships aim to expand childcare in their area in line with parental demand.  They bring together the interests, knowledge, expertise, ideas and resources of the public, private and voluntary sectors, parents and the community.  They identify local need, develop plans and generate proposals for the development of services.

The Scottish Out of School Care Network

The Scottish Out of School Care Network (SOSCN) is the lead organisation representing out of school care and school-aged childcare in Scotland.  Since 1991 SOSCN has been offering advice, support and information to childcare providers, parents, development workers and other organisations working within the sector.  We support the right to play and the continued development of a play care training infrastructure as well as equal opportunities and partnership working.

4Children

Formerly known as Kids' Club Network, 4Children is the national charity dedicated to creating opportunities and building futures for children.  4Children develop and shape policy to ensure that all children and families are able to fulfil their potential, develop innovative programmes to tackle issues such as social exclusion and crime, provide advice and consultancy for local authorities, schools, employers and Government, improve the quality and sustainability of children's services through training and support, give advice to parents on a range of children's issues and represent the voice of children at every level.

A website for parents, from the National Family and Parenting Institute (NFPI).  An independent charity working to improve the lives of parents and families by campaigning for a more family-friendly society.

Fathers Plus

Fathers Plus is a project of Children North East.  The project aim is to ensure that the role of the father is valued, supported and included whenever services for children and families are being planned and also to develop, deliver and share with others practical approaches to parent support for fathers.

The Family Nurturing Network

The Family Nurturing Network (FNN) is a charitable organisation based in Oxfordshire and offer direct and intensive group programmes for families and children aged 2 - 12 years, parenting skills courses for adopters, training of volunteers and professionals both locally and nationally and are engaged in collaborative research projects.

Play Scotland

Play Scotland is the lead organisation for children's play, campaigning to make the right to play a reality for every child in Scotland. Play Scotland operates at a strategic level to promote the importance of play (for children & young people aged 0-18) in all contexts (at home, in the streets, parks and public spaces, at school and out of school care), and to support and lobby on behalf of those individuals and organisations involved in play.Play Scotland is funded by the Scottish Executive, membership subscriptions and project grants.
